The ATTY-TO-BE EXAM is a test taken by aspiring attorneys in order TO become certified. The EXAM consists of two parts: ESQ, which stands for Examination for the State of Qualification, and DIST, which stands for District Examination. The ESQ is a multiple choice test that covers topics such as legal ethics, professional responsibility, and legal research. The DIST is an essay-based EXAM that tests the applicant's knowledge of state and federal laws. Passing both parts of the EXAM is required in order TO become a licensed attorney.
