Stan Mikita was an athlete who played professional ice hockey for the Chicago Blackhawks. He was born in Sokolce, Czechoslovakia and moved to Canada at the age of 8. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983 and is considered one of the greatest players of all time. He was known for his skillful stickhandling and scoring ability, and was the first player to score more than 100 points in a single season. He retired in 1980 after playing 22 seasons with the Blackhawks.
