Isaac Asimov was a prolific science fiction writer and professor of biochemistry. He is best known for his works such as the Foundation series, I, ROBOT, and The Caves of Steel. His most famous character is the ROBOT R. Daneel Olivaw, who appears in many of his stories. Asimov's NEMESIS was Hugo Gernsback, the founder of the science fiction magazine Amazing Stories. He also wrote a novel called The Gods Themselves, which won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1972. Asimov's other works include the short story collection Nightfall and Other Stories, and the novel Cal, which was adapted into a movie in 1984.
