Otto Kahn was an American banker, philanthropist, and art patron. He was born in Germany in 1867 and immigrated to the United States in 1884. He was a partner at the investment bank Kuhn, Loeb & Co. and was known for his generous donations to various charities and cultural institutions. He was a major supporter of the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic, and he also donated to the Museum of Modern Art and the Jewish Theological Seminary. He was a passionate collector of art and was a patron of many artists, including Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.
