An Army Subdivision is a UNIT of the military that is composed of several smaller units. A UNIT is a four-letter word for a small military organization, usually consisting of a headquarters and two or more subordinate organizations. A BRIGADE is a seven-letter word for a major tactical formation composed of three or more battalions, plus supporting elements. It is the smallest formation in the Army that is organized and equipped to operate independently on the battlefield.
