Alan Arkin is an American actor, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles in films such as The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming (1966), The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (1968), Catch-22 (1970), Little Miss Sunshine (2006), and Argo (2012). He has been nominated for four Academy Awards, winning Best Supporting Actor for Little Miss Sunshine. Arkin has also won two Golden Globe Awards and two BAFTA Awards. He has been active in the film industry since the 1960s and continues to appear in films today.
