Ian Richardson was an actor from Scotland who was best known for his roles in the BBC television series House of Cards and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was also a stage actor, appearing in productions of Shakespeare's plays and other works. He won a BAFTA award for his performance in House of Cards and was nominated for several other awards throughout his career. Richardson passed away in 2007 at the age of 72.
