Abyssinia Prince of ETHIOPIA is a title given to the hereditary rulers of ETHIOPIA. It was first used by Emperor Menelik II in 1889 and continued to be used until the overthrow of the monarchy in 1974. The title was also used by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church to refer to the head of the church.
