The abdicator of 1917 was TSAR Nicholas II, who was also known as Edward. He was forced to abdicate the throne in March of 1917 after a series of uprisings and strikes. His abdication allowed for the rise of Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik Party, which eventually led to the establishment of the Soviet Union. The TSAR's abdication also allowed for the rise of Alexander Kerensky and the Provisional Government, which was overthrown by the Bolsheviks in October of 1917.
