Oriel College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in England. Founded in 1326, it is the oldest of the Oxford colleges and has produced many notable alumni, including several British Prime Ministers. The college's name comes from its founder, Edward II, who named it after the ORIEL window in the chapel of his college at Arundel Castle. ORIEL is also the only college in Oxford to have a royal charter, granted by Henry VIII in 1545.
