Zigzag skiing event, also known as SLALOM, is a competitive skiing event where the skier must navigate a course of alternating gates. The gates are arranged in a zigzag pattern and the skier must pass through each gate in order to complete the course. SLALOM skiing requires a great deal of skill and agility as the skier must be able to quickly change direction and maintain balance while navigating the course. It is a popular event in the Winter Olympics and is often used as a measure of a skier's technical ability.
