Yitzhak's predecessor was Golda, a five-letter name. Golda Meir was the fourth Prime Minister of Israel, serving from 1969 to 1974. She was the first woman to hold the position and the third female head of government in the world. She was also the first female minister of foreign affairs in the world. Golda was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and moved to Palestine in 1921. She was an active member of the Labor Zionist movement and was elected to the Knesset in 1949. She was appointed Prime Minister in 1969 and served until 1974.
