Yitzhak Rabin was an Israeli politician who served as the fifth Prime Minister of Israel from 1974 to 1977 and again from 1992 until his assassination in 1995. He was a member of the Labor Party and was the first native-born Prime Minister of Israel. He is remembered for his role in negotiating the Oslo Accords, which led to the establishment of the Palestinian Authority and the end of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his efforts to bring peace to the Middle East.
