Doris Lessing was a British writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2007. She was born in Persia (now Iran) in 1919 and moved to London in 1949. Her works include novels, short stories, plays, and essays. She is best known for her novel The Golden Notebook, which was published in 1962. She also wrote several other novels, including The Summer Before the Dark and The Good Terrorist. She died in 2013 at the age of 94.
