Writer Fleming is the pen name of Ian Lancaster Fleming, a British author and journalist who is best known for his James Bond series of spy novels. He was born in 1908 and worked as a stockbroker before becoming a journalist and then a novelist. His first novel, Casino Royale, was published in 1953 and was followed by twelve other Bond novels and two short story collections. Fleming also wrote the children's story Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and two non-fiction books. He died in 1964.
