Wordless singing, also known as SCAT singing, is a vocal improvisation technique in which the singer vocally imitates instruments or creates sounds with their voice. It is often used in jazz music and is characterized by nonsense syllables, improvised melodies, and rhythms. SCAT singing is an important part of jazz history and has been used by many famous jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Sarah Vaughan.
