Woodland gods are mythical creatures from Greek and Roman mythology that inhabit forests and woodlands. The most common woodland gods are SATYR, PAN, DRYAD, FAUN, and Sylvanus. Satyrs are half-man, half-goat creatures with horns, pointed ears, and a tail. PAN is a god of nature, shepherds, and flocks, often depicted with the hindquarters of a goat and horns on his head. Dryads are female tree spirits, usually associated with oak trees. Fauns are similar to Satyrs, but with the legs of a goat instead of a human. Sylvanus is the Roman god of forests, fields, and fertility.
