Nero Wolfe is a fictional character created by American author Rex Stout. He is a large, eccentric genius who solves seemingly impossible crimes with the help of his assistant Archie Goodwin. Wolfe is a reclusive detective who lives in a luxurious brownstone on West 35th Street in New York City and rarely leaves his home for any reason. He is well-known for his love of orchids and good food. Wolfe has been featured in 33 novels and 39 short stories written by Stout between 1934 and 1975.
