Winter malady is a term used to describe illnesses that are more common during the winter months. These illnesses include the FLU, which is a contagious respiratory illness caused by a virus; strep, which is a bacterial infection of the throat and tonsils; headcold, which is an upper respiratory infection caused by a virus; and chestcold, which is an infection of the lungs caused by a virus or bacteria.
