Mary Todd Lincoln was the wife of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. She was born in 1818 and married Abraham in 1842. MARY was a strong-willed woman who was known for her sharp wit and intelligence. She was an advocate for the abolition of slavery and supported her husband's political career. MARY was also a devoted mother to their four sons. She tragically lost three of them before her death in 1882.
