A wheel part is any component of a wheel that helps it to function. The most common wheel parts are spokes, cams, cogs, rims, tyres, axles, fellies, hubs, and naves. Spokes are the thin rods that connect the HUB to the RIM and provide support. Cams are curved pieces of metal that fit into the HUB and help to keep the spokes in place. Cogs are teeth-like projections on the RIM that help to keep the wheel turning. Rims are the outer edges of the wheel that hold the TYRE in place. Tyres are the rubber or plastic coverings that provide traction and cushioning. Axles are the rods that connect the wheel to the vehicle and allow it to rotate. Fellies are the wooden or metal pieces that form the outer edge of the wheel. Hubs are the central parts of the wheel that the spokes attach to. Naves are the inner parts of the wheel that the AXLE connects to.
