The Western Ranges are a group of mountain ranges located in the western United States. The most well-known range is the Sierra Nevada, which spans California and Nevada. The Sierra Nevada is home to some of the highest peaks in the contiguous United States, including Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48 states. Other ranges in the Western Ranges include the Cascade Range, the Rocky Mountains, and the Great Basin Range.
