Western Prop is a term used to describe the tools and equipment used by cowboys in the American West. The most common items include a NOOSE, which is a loop of rope used to catch animals; a RIATA, which is a long rope with a loop at one end used for lassoing; and a LASSO, which is a loop of rope used to capture animals or objects. The last item is a ten-gallon hat, which is a wide-brimmed hat made of felt or straw that was popularized by cowboys in the 19th century.
