Wenceslao Moreno, better known as Wences, was a Spanish ventriloquist who was popular in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s. He was born in Spain in 1896 and began performing as a ventriloquist at the age of seven. He moved to the United States in the 1940s and became a popular figure on television and in nightclubs. He was known for his comedic timing and his ability to make his puppet, 'SENOR, ' seem alive. He died in 1999 at the age of 103.
