A warehouse pallet, also known as a SKID, is a flat transport structure that supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, pallet jack, front loader, work saver, or other jacking device. It is commonly used to store, ship, and transport materials and products within a warehouse or distribution center. The term SKID is derived from the Old Norse word skíð, meaning a long, thin piece of wood.
