Wading birds are a type of bird that live in and around shallow water. Stilts, rails, egrets, herons, storks, IBIS, avocets, CRANES, snipes, ibises, soras, sandpipers, and oystercatchers are all examples of wading birds. These birds have long legs and webbed feet which allow them to walk through shallow water in search of food. They also have long beaks which they use to catch fish, insects, and other small aquatic animals.
