Volcanic peaks, also known as volcanic cones, are formed when lava and ash from a volcanic eruption solidify and accumulate around the vent of the volcano. They are usually steep-sided and can range in height from hundreds of meters to several kilometers. Volcanic peaks are often found in areas of high seismic activity, such as the Ring of Fire in the Pacific Ocean. They are also common in areas of active volcanism, such as Hawaii and Iceland.
