Vivien Leigh was an English actress who is best known for her role as Scarlett O'Hara in the 1939 film Gone with the Wind. She won two Academy Awards for Best Actress and was also nominated for a Tony Award. Leigh was born in India and moved to London at the age of six. She began her acting career in the 1930s and went on to become one of the most celebrated actresses of her time. Her other notable roles include Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire and Anna Karenina in the 1948 film adaptation of the novel. Leigh was married to Laurence Olivier from 1940 until 1960.
