Isaac Stern was a renowned violinist who was born in 1920 in Russia and moved to the United States at the age of nine. He was considered one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century, and he performed with many of the world's leading orchestras. He also founded the Isaac Stern Chamber Music Society and the American-Israel Cultural Foundation. He was awarded numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1987.
