The Village Voice Award, also known as the Obie Award, is an annual award presented by the American theatre publication The Village Voice. It was established in 1955 and is given to recognize excellence in Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions. The award is named after the publication's nickname, 'the Obie'. It is one of the most prestigious awards for Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway theatre.
