VHS and Cassette TAPES were popular formats for storing audio and video recordings in the late 20th century. VHS stands for Video Home System, and was developed by JVC in 1976. It was the first consumer-level format for recording and playing back video on a television. Cassette TAPES were developed in the 1960s and were used to store audio recordings. They were popular until the early 2000s when digital formats began to replace them.
