Veronica LAKE was an American actress known for her femme fatale roles in 1940s films. She was born Constance Frances Marie Ockelman in 1919 and adopted the stage name Veronica LAKE when she began her acting career. Her most famous role was in the 1942 film 'This Gun for Hire' opposite Alan Ladd. LAKE also starred in the 1945 film 'The Blue Dahlia' with co-star William Bendix. Her career ended in the 1950s, but she continued to act in television and theater until her death in 1973. Her last film was 'Flesh Feast' in 1970. LAKE was married to John Hamel from 1944 to 1952.
