Verne Traveler was the pseudonym of Jules Verne, a French author who wrote some of the earliest science fiction novels. He is best known for his works 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' and 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea'. The character Phileas Fogg from the novel 'Around the World in Eighty Days' was also created by Verne. Fogg was a wealthy Englishman who made a bet that he could travel around the world in eighty days.
