The Venerable Scholar is a title given to the 7th-century English monk and theologian, BEDE. He is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of Christianity and is best known for his work, 'Ecclesiastical History of the English People'. BEDE was a prolific writer and his works are still studied today. He is also credited with introducing the concept of the Anno Domini dating system.
