Unrestrained revelry is a term used to describe an atmosphere of wild and uninhibited celebration. It is often associated with two ancient Roman festivals, SATURNALIA and Orgy. SATURNALIA was a week-long festival in honor of the god Saturn, during which social norms were reversed and people engaged in unrestrained revelry. Orgy was a similar festival, but on a smaller scale, usually lasting only one day. Both festivals were characterized by wild partying, drinking, and general debauchery.
