Unhip types are generally considered to be those who are not socially accepted or fashionable. Two common examples of unhip types are NERDS and GEEKS. NERDS are often seen as people who are highly intelligent but lack social skills, while GEEKS are usually portrayed as having an obsessive interest in a particular subject. Both terms are often used in a derogatory manner, but can also be used in a more positive light.
