An undercover cop, also known as a narc, is a law enforcement officer who works in secret to investigate criminal activity. They often use a false identity and disguise themselves as someone else in order to gain access to information or infiltrate criminal organizations. A legal pretender is another term for an undercover cop, as they are pretending to be someone else in order to do their job.
