Uncle Tom's Cabin is a classic novel by Harriet Beecher Stowe, first published in 1852. The characters Eliza, Topsy, and Eva are all featured in the novel. Eliza is a slave who escapes from her master in order to protect her son from being sold. Topsy is a young slave girl who is adopted by the St. Clare family. Eva is the daughter of Augustine St. Clare, a plantation owner, and she is known for her kindness and compassion towards slaves.
