The U.S. President from 1909-13 was William Howard Taft. He was the 27th President of the United States and served one term from 1909 to 1913. He was a Republican and was the only president in American history to also serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He was known for his progressive domestic policies, which included trust-busting and increased regulation of railroads. He was also an advocate for world peace and international arbitration.
