A two-masted ship is a type of sailing vessel with two masts, each with its own set of sails. The four types of two-masted ships are the BRIG, SCHOONER, YAWL, and KETCH. A BRIG is a two-masted vessel with square-rigged sails on both masts. A SCHOONER is a two-masted vessel with fore-and-aft rigged sails on both masts. A YAWL is a two-masted vessel with a mizzen mast stepped aft of the rudder post and fore-and-aft rigged sails on both masts. Lastly, a KETCH is a two-masted vessel with a mizzen mast stepped forward of the rudder post and fore-and-aft rigged sails on both masts.
