Roone Arledge was a television executive who served as the president of ABC Sports from 1968 to 1986. He is credited with revolutionizing sports broadcasting by introducing a number of innovative production techniques, such as slow motion replays and instant replay. He also created the first Monday Night Football broadcast in 1970. Arledge was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1993.
