TV Dog is a term used to refer to fictional dogs that have appeared in television shows. The most famous of these is LASSIE, a Rough Collie who first appeared in the 1943 novel LASSIE Come-Home and later in the 1954 film adaptation. LASSIE has since been featured in numerous television series, films, books, and other media. HOBO is another popular TV Dog, appearing in the 1960s television series The Adventures of HOBO. HOBO was a German Shepherd who was the loyal companion of a young boy. Finally, Ren is a Jack Russell Terrier who starred in the 1990s television series Ren and Stimpy. Ren was known for his mischievous behavior and often served as a foil to his more sensible friend Stimpy.
