Turkish Soldiers, or Janissaries, were an elite military force of the Ottoman Empire. They were originally formed in the 14th century and served as the Sultan's personal guard. They were renowned for their loyalty and bravery, and were considered to be one of the most powerful forces in the region. The Janissaries were disbanded in 1826 after a series of uprisings against the Ottoman Empire.
