Louis Armstrong was an American jazz trumpeter, composer, singer, and actor. He is one of the most influential figures in jazz music and is renowned for his charismatic stage presence and vocal style. He was nicknamed 'SATCHMO' or 'POPS' and was known for his improvisational skills. Armstrong was also a pioneer in the development of bebop and modern jazz. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
