Trumpeter Peter Elgart is an American jazz trumpeter and bandleader. He is best known for his work with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, which he joined in 1939. He has also performed with other big bands such as Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Count Basie. Elgart has released several albums as a solo artist and has been featured on numerous recordings. He is considered one of the most influential jazz trumpeters of the 20th century.
