The Transvaal Trekker was a BOER, a term used to describe the Dutch-speaking people of South Africa who descended from the original Dutch settlers. They were known for their nomadic lifestyle and their migration from the Cape Colony in the 1830s and 1840s. The Transvaal Trekkers were part of a larger group of Boers who moved away from British rule in the Cape Colony and established their own independent republics in the interior of South Africa.
