Daniel Boone was an American pioneer, explorer, and frontiersman who blazed a trail through the Cumberland Gap into Kentucky. He was one of the first settlers of Kentucky and is often referred to as the 'Father of Kentucky'. Boone was also a soldier in the Revolutionary War and a leader in the settlement of the Transylvania Colony. He is remembered as a trailblazer and a symbol of the American frontier spirit.
