Figaro is a titular character in the opera 'The Marriage of FIGARO' by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The opera is based on a play by Pierre Beaumarchais and is set in Seville, Spain during the late 18th century. FIGARO is a barber-surgeon and the Count Almaviva's factotum, or servant. He is a clever and resourceful character who outwits his master and helps the Countess Almaviva to reclaim her husband's affections.
