Time delay, also known as LAG, is a period of time between the initiation of a process and its completion. It can refer to a delay in the start or end of a process, or both. In computing, time delay is often used to describe the amount of time it takes for a computer to respond to an input. In telecommunications, time delay is used to describe the amount of time it takes for a signal to travel from one point to another.
