The Three-Card Scam, also known as the 'Three-Card Monte' or 'Find the Lady', is a confidence game in which the victim is tricked into betting on the location of an object, usually a playing card, among three face-down cards. The scammer typically uses sleight of hand to move the object around the table and encourage the victim to bet on the wrong card. It is believed to have originated in Spain in the 16th century and has been used by con artists ever since.
